Hohner 267/48 Chord Harmonica with Professional Upgrades (CM-1)

Description

Up for your consideration is a Hohner 267/48 Chord Harmonica with Professional Upgrades and Refurbishing.
This is the second chord that I'm offering for sale at this time.  It has seen considerable playing time as you'll be able to see from the photos.
Since acquiring this chord I've done the following:
Professional Upgrades:
1.  The 267/48 chord harmonica leaves the factory with the reedplates attached to the pearwood combs with nails.  Over time these nails work loose and the harmonica loses its airtightness.  I've replaced all nails with "1-72" machinescrews utilizing the nail holes and drilling and tapping them.  With machine screws the reedplates can be tightened easily to restore the airtightness.
2.  I've cut each reedplate into three sections so that it is not necessary to remove the entire reedplate from the comb in order to maintain just one chord section.  For example, the C major chord usually requires the most maintenance because it is used the most.  It is also located near the center of the chord and this modification allows the removal of the center section without disturbing the other sections.
These two modifications are the most popular with professional chord players and enhance the value of the instrument.
Refurbishment.
1.  I cleaned thebrass reedplates with Naval Jelly followed by bleach for sanitizing.
2.  I scraped andcleaned the wood combs with wire brush followed by alcoholspray for sanitizing.
3.  I centered each reed, reset the gap between the reed and reedplate and tuned the chords to 442.
SPECIAL NOTE ON TUNING:
I use “Just Intonation” for all Major, Sevenths and Augmented chords and “Equal Temperament” for Minor and Diminished chords.
4.  I removed, cleaned and replaced all windsavers.
5.  I cleaned and polished all nickel plated parts followed by bleach for sanitizing.
This is an excellent chord that will perform for you for years to come.
